Team Vs Leicester?
|
Would you keep the same XI that did so well against Arsenal?
Would you keep Oxford in the team?
Is Obiang close to a start?
For me:
................................ Adrian
Jenkinson - Reid - Ogbonna - Cresswell
....................... Obiang or Oxford ..........Noble ............................ Kouyate......
.................. Payet.................. Zarate ........... ............................... Sakho ............................

Tomkins took a knock? Not sure how he is, sure he'll be fine but Jenk should come in.

I doubt he'll rush Obinga straight back.
ted - It's cut throat at this level mate, I don't see how you can leave out Reid and the Italian (can't remember his poxy name) and Jenko is a shoe in at RB.

Always a difficult one that. Tomkins stands in for RB and loses his place after doing quite well out of position. Hardly encouragement to any player to help the team by playing out of position if they then lose their place automatically.
I think he may well start against Leicester after beating Arsenal 0-2 on their own patch but you never know...

I would have picked Tomkins all day long over Reid.
But Reid had a good game, harsh on Tomkins who may have started instead of Reid if we weren't playing Arsenal.
Nice problem to have, the rest of the team unchanged.

West Ham chief gives Tomkins update after Arsenal clashes of heads
James Tomkins is just ‘a bit bruised’ after a nasty clash of heads with Oliver Giroud.
Play was stopped for a while after the West Ham centre-back and the Arsenal striker clashed when challenging for a header in the second half of the Hammers’ shock 2-0 win at the Emirates. Despite looking a little groggy Tomkins played on for the remainder of the match and helped his side start the season with a memorable result in what was the defender’s 200th start for West Ham.
And late on Monday night chairman David Gold tweeted an update. “I saw him (Tomkins) after the game, he’s a bit bruised but very happy with the result,” it read. Arsenal also confirmed on Twitter that Giroud did not suffer concussion and was allowed to go home after the final whistle
The statement read: “Update on Olivier Giroud: contrary to some reports, he was not unconscious at any point after collision today and has returned home as usual.”

We'll probably have to set up slightly differently as Leicester will use the width a lot more than Arsenal did. At least two their goals were from Albrighton crosses from way out left. For that reason I'd definitely have Jenks back in.

same team...don't fix what's not broken.
Jenks in especially for a home game, need his attacking abilities over tomkins (should be a one off againsr Arsenal)

If Tomkins is fit then he keeps his place. Otherwise Jenkinson comes in.

Randolph Collins Jenkinson Obiang / Poyet Nolan Lanzini Lee
Poyet and Jarvis miss out. I would not have Maiga anywhere near the first team.

Thank fuck some of you aint the manager, no balls to make a tough decison!
Jenkinson is one of the best RB's in the country, but some want to keep a makeshift CB there instead?

What possible reason is there to play Tomkins at RB if Jenks is available? Bizarre.
I can see the temptation to keep a winning side together but I'd hope Bilic would be progressive enough to notice that Arsenal and Leicester play rather differently and will set up accordingly.
Playing people out of position is just stupid if you don't have to. I'm expecting at least one change and a slightly different formation.

No doubt it's this back line
Adrian Jenkinson Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
But i'm torn between
Noble Kouyate Lanzini Payet Zarate Sakho
and
Oxford Kouyate Noble Payet Zarate Sakho

Jenkinson one of the best right backs in the country? He's not even the best right back at Arsenal?

Whatever. He's a good right back and of course should be in our first 11.
Maybe I was being a bit too complimentary, and I meant ENGLISH right backs.I saw a fair bit of England U-21 in the summer and he was probably our best player.

I'd be inclined to go with the more attacking team and bring Oxford on for Lanzini late on if we're winning but are under pressure.

Mr.Anon - yes based on last seasons form. Tomkins was our best defender.
